<a href="#comment-5763" rel="nofollow">@Kassie</a>

Joe Sacco is a great choice, I'd especially recommend Palestine.

I hope the R&RBC made a worthy choice instead of American Born Chinese, that book seems perfect for fostering book club discussion.

Ha! Just today my rock & roll bookclub opted against American Born Chinese in favor of something else. But it's still on my to-read list.

I actually have In the Shadow of No Towers, a friend of mine loaned it to me, but I haven't read it yet.

I was just going to recommend American Born Chinese also. Also, any thing by Joe Sacco. I disliked In the Shadow of No Towers, though.

'Maus' is truly one of the best Holocaust books I've read. Hard to convince the "serious" readers that graphic novels can be worth reading. I always recommend this with 'Persepolis' and 'American Born Chinese' and Spiegelman's 'In the Shadow of No Towers' a 9/11 book.
